So Cal desert rats

Scott, You know I'd do it for You if I could. I go again to the H for scheduling, I hope I have enough fuel. :(

Paul glad to hear you got your jeep up and running again!! Scout here are the parts # you need: ES2233L, ES2234R, ES2026R, ES2027L! The ones I got from Star Auto Parts did not have the jam nuts. You will have to drill and ream ES2233L rod end so ES2026R will fit in the hole in it. This the set up I have.

No worrys paul. This is got to get done, so i know i need to pay to have it done. I just can't see when or where i did this, but we both know me.I can find a way to do it on the flat stuff.

LOL! Yeah If You can't go over it then You go under, sideways, backwards, whatever it takes to get to the other side. Your "Bulldozer" technique is Infamous. (lol)

Dude you need to see this new trail JEFF showed us, plus we ran it at night.Thats where i lost my tie rod the first time.YOU WOULD CHIT.Jeff was hitting chit with his diffs and he is on 35 or 37's.

Thanks, Bill. Thank God for google, no one was sharing axle rebuild secrets. Good thing to learn.
One of these days I'd like to discuss Your, for the lack of the correct term, Gear Splitter. Curt mentioned it and if I'm not wrong I saw it work at Truckhaven. Maybe You'll :lecture: Me about it.

Jeff's a Wild Man, I've got the Pic's to prove it. :) Once All this H stuff is done I hope You'll show Me.

This is the 1 ton chevy rod ends. If you go with the tie rod and drag link you have they may be to short for the heim ends! The ES2233L end (this is the end the drag link goes in is about twice as long as a heim) something to think about.

Scott, I was there when John made My OTT trackbar. It has those ends, they slipped into a stick of Chrome Moly and then is plug welded first and stitched around the top if I remember correctly. Could be a fun project.

I'm thinking about it, just not sure yet.I drive this thing everywhere i go, i hate having to trailer it. I got to get outside now he is on his way over.I'll be back later.

Yea i was looking at them, thanks for the heads up on it bill.

If I was tooled for it, I'd make what I've seen the most of. Scott's bumper is a Very popular design. It's more fabrication but I see more and more of them. Tube bumpers are popular too. I've seen more below the rocker rock sliders, other then the Guy's that didn't see the need until They smashed their rocker panels, on the Jeeps and trucks at Truckhaven and other wheeling areas. A tube bender to make cages, even a harbor freight bender would do the job. Scott would be all over a cage, Tone wants one too. Just saying maybe instead of re-inventing the wheel, make a better one at a price that is not so prohibitive in these time's.

Sorry, but I'm kind of confused by some of that. What did I say I was trying to re-invent? I could absolutely make some bolt on rock sliders or anything you guys want. Like I said, if there's a piece of equipment (i.e. tube bender) I need for a job, I'll buy it. Especially if I know there are several of you guys that would need cages or tube bumpers.
With that being said, I should know soon if anyone wants some sliders or bumpers so I can pick up all the material at once when I go. If any of you want to talk to me about getting something done just give me a call.

P.S. This is not a business. I'm just doing this for friends on the forum...

Can't find Your Flare thread any longer, but You were talking about building bumpers out of 2"X5" rectangular tubing. Pretty anemic for the smashing into rocks these Guy's do with them.
Only, it'll be a rocker panel replacement.

I don't know anyone that wants this style Myself, maybe You'll find a few. Or You could make the others that I see on most. I don't give a shit, didn't mean to make You butt hurt.

No, I'm not butt hurt at all. Definitely didn't mean to come off like that. Like I said, takes a hell of a lot more. Just didn't understand what you were getting at. I was talking about a rocker replacement for myself. Not many people like that because you're hacking up the unibody. I'm all about it though. I see a lot of guys with 2x5" tube bumpers. I believe Both Scott and Jeff have them. I couldn't see bashing in 3/16" wall tubing though. I was even contemplating making some into tanks for on-board air.

P.S. they did close my fender flare thread...

Chit that was easy.DONE. Took him all of 30 min to do this welding.LOL.Got to love the pros.I poped the welds that were done when rick had these axles, so he hit that with a grinder and then he hit them and a few new ones.He said they was bad for awhile but i did help.LOL.So now on to the other chit and then i am back on the road.He wouldn't weld the shock stuff, told me to so i can learn how to weld, i just laughed at him and said i was trying.LOL.He was HIGH priced to, charged me a PEPSI.He used his welder, gen, and truck to come here, but he will be coming back to off road when it cools off.

Hey brad, I like the one that scott has, they r JCR. I like how the ends wrap around o protect the front corner of the fenders. Also I like the end caps the match the rear quarters. Were u planning on doing that with yours or would that be extra?
