Tone came by and fixed His Jeep. Neutral Safety Switch, not much to go bad, just take it out and clean the contacts. Make sure the contacts go in and out. And a valve cover gasket, now it's all Mall & Shit under the hood. Freakin Cold Today.
 
bypass it! in the connector for the NSS run a piece of wire between the two terminals in the center on the side opposite of the little tab that holds the connector halves together.

so if they pins are labeled:
__---_
ABCD
EFGH

connect F and G and the computer will think the switch is in park at all times. I checked in the FSM and once the truck starts all the shifting and position sensing is done with sensors and levers inside the trans, so there are no problems rigging it up this way. I've had mine bypassed for 5 years now and done 7 or 8 other jeeps with no ill effects.
 
I was going to do that mike, but i found having the button is easier for the wife..It does work most of the time, but once an awhile it just won't work..Cleaned and adjusted more times than i care to say..LOL
 
Paul i got a call yesterday about going to truckhaven this weekend..I have a house full of people who think i won't be around next year i guess, so i can't go.. If You cleaned & adjusted it, and its still goofy, I'd try Mikes Way.

NO biggie paul, just giving a heads up..I may have to sale mine to pay for MEDICAL insurance on me..They are hitting me for more MONEY per month, all because of my cancer...I guess i am not making them a profit...LOL...I may need to have a wrench party after the first of the year..
