Snow

The last two storms dumped between 36 and 42" here is the DC area depending on where you measure. Closer to 60" at Dulles Airport. Spent the first couple days of each storm driving my neighborhood, three concentric loops with just two exits to a major road, clearing felled trees so the plows could get in and get through.

Pulled one 30 foot box truck (the whole was probably 50' long) off a 4 foot plow berm where the driver tried to foolishly enter a neighborhood. Guatemalans who had never seen, let alone drove in snow were manning the truck. As soon as I pulled them out they drove right back over the now partially dug out berm (they dug I watched) and into the neighborhood. Hilly and off camber they got in about 100 yds the rear kicked out and when he counter-steered it slid right up against a bunch of parked cars. I drove off and left them, idiots. I know we all learned at one point but this was just beyond stupid.

I didnt touch any of the stuck Lexi, Mecerdes or BMWs. All driven by tard lawyers. One big black Mercedes was stuck on a berm in the middle of an intersection. He got stuck just at the start of the second storm, it sat there for three days getting plowed in deeper and deeper. Serves him right.

I volunteered for INOVA Fairfax Hospital for a couple days and shuttled nurses and doctors around. That was not only fun but they really appreciated it. Good times on unplowed side streets with 40-50mph winds and whiteout conditions on one night. Some other folks in my local club (NOVA Jeepers) did the same and even got "lucky" enough to shuttle dialysis patients, real life saving stuff there.

The idiots came out in droves last Sunday and again on Thursday. I wish we could outlaw all Toyota's and Honda's. I have a special hatred reserved just for Prius's. All Prius drivers are frickn idiots with real bad holier than thou attitudes and only 3 inches of ground clearance. Get a clue. If the roads have 6" inch ruts and 12" moguls in them all solid ice a car with 3" of ground clearance is just going to flat get stuck.

I dont think a single import car has a hardpoint on it suitable for towing except for the Audi TT which comes with a removable panel in the bumper and a tow hook that screws in.

I hope it snows another 24 inches soon.

So this time last night we weren't supposed to get much of anything. Got a good 2-3" from this one. Started snowing hard around 5:00pm and didn't let up until almost 10:00. Still snowing lightly though. Guess this storm kinda snuck up on the weather guys...
