Snow

We have about a foot here now and its still coming down! Its snowing harder than I have ever seen it snow here.

We definitely had it worse for Christmas. We have about 7" here and it hasn't snowed for a while now. I'm directly over the mountains here in Monroe county. If you watch channel 7 news, you probably know where that is.

Yep, I know where that is. My Dad was from Yeager in the coal fields and I spent a lot of time in Gap Mills hunting when i was a kid.

The local stations are reporting 8-10" of snow. I just went and measured and we have 11" here at my house.

I am the best sled shuttle ever, I take friends to untouched hills.

I'm between Gap Mills and Union. My neighbor says Christiansburg got about 16". I was hoping for more here. White ground and trees sure beat brown grass and mud in my book.

Edit: I spelled Ieager wrong, LOL! If my dad were alive he would ream my a$$ for that one.

That looks like a frozen swamp. I'm really struggling to see how you thought to yourself, "self, this looks like a good idea"! That looks like hydrolock waiting to happen, or possibly even worse.

yeah, i could see where that would be a concern. actually, there is eventually a rock bottom, so you can only sink so far. this isn't a new spot for me, but a place i go all the time. it was quite a bit deeper than it usually is, but nonetheless, perfectly safe. we didn't drive in deep part of all this stuff, where there's a creek that is prolly 5ft deep in places right now, but is totally passable most of the time....

I spent a few hours sledding yesterday and it was so incredibly fun. I haven't gone sledding in years. Today, we get to play Ultimate in 5" of snow. I'm so freaking psyched for it.

Bigalpha i know what ya mean man i hadnt been sledin in about 20 yrs and i took the kids out to find us a hill. I was just having fun driving the jeep in it. Sledin down the hillside with the kids was a blast. Had so much fun we are going back today..Never to old to enjoy the snow.
