I am going to be visiting some family in Chico does anyone know of some fun places to do some snow wheelin near there. I know of high lakes but not sure if it is open.

when are you planning on being here? high lakes may be a bit sketchy this weekend with this big storm coming through. they are talking several inches of rain in the valley through saturday. So I am sure the high lakes are going to get pounded. There are other areas around the lake almanor area. i was up there this last weekend and there was about 10 inches of snow there. just check the weather for the area up here if you are coming this weekend

as far as i know it is open, i haven't seen anything on here to say it is closed. just pack for the night is all in case you have to stay there unplanned or something

Try around Butte Medows off of 32 towards chester. I was up there last weekend... about a foot of snow. Lots of dumb asses up there though that dont know how to wheel in snow. I did see one red xj with about a 6-8 inch lift with leafs in the front. I wanted to talk to him but he kept driving by me on the trail. Looked like a nice jeep though.

I think we are going to head to High Lakes Via Paradise and see what we can find. Leaving tonight so hopefully have some pics by the end of the weekend.

hey man, I think i have seen you on the trail hunters board.
i have a buddy that lives up toward forrest ranch on 32, and we leave from his house which takes us on all dirt roads straight to inskip. then it is like 1/2 mile on the skyway to the road that takes you out to the high lakes.
his screen name on trail hunters is tfpets, I am going to call him and see if he wants to do another run this weekend.
