A few friends and I camped at Sourgrass (Board's Crossing) this weekend and ran up to Slickrock. The rangers said they thought the Alpine side was still snowed in so we went to check it out. No snow on the trail; it's a little wet but not bad. The water crossing is about 30-32" deep. We saw lots of people on the trail, ran across about 25 rigs at various stages. Weather was gorgeous and good times were had.

Slabs at the Utica side:

hell yeah man....thanks for sharing...can't wait to get up there in August.

i plan on going this weekend. crossing was 30" though? thats a little high but not bad.

The crossing was high. Most of the group was on 33's and you could just see the tops of the tires. 31's were just about flush with the surface of the water.

good pics. The water crossing has gone down quite a bit. We where up there about 3 weeks ago and the water was up to the top of my 37's.

Nice pic's. Thanks for posting them. But where are the "Tim broke his..." or "Tim hung up on..." pic's? :D Looks like you had plenty of fun out there tho. One of these days I'll get to get my pavement pounder out to some dirt again.

Rob, you are right - no trip report is complete until we describe Tim's breakage. No breakage this time, but he did dent his rear passenger door when he slid into a tree. No pics of the damage.

At least Tim is always fun and entertaining to wheel with. Which should make watching him in the red beast reeealllly fun. I think I'll pass on trying to follow him when he has that on the trail. (not that I follow him in the green machine either) :D

just follow me, & the fun never ends! :jester:

is the north side open or only the south side?

All the way through is open.

Josh, looks like a fun trip! I was up there Sunday with my parents checking to make sure our cabin survived the winter. Tried taking the minivan up the road to slick rock to see how the meadow that got torn up last year was recovering. Didn't make it far though. Next time!

alright good to know we will probably be camping at baords and run SR sat. or might jsut camp on SR
