Slick rock & deer valley

And your camping on slick rock Saturday night? On the alpine side at the first place the trail opens up next to the creek? Or at the spicer/Utica/union side?

Alright well if you guys are at the alpine side I'll try to stop by. Might head down to hermit valley Friday night too. Keep an eye out for a guy in a gay white s10 or on a dirt bike if I bring it.

Just a heads up for everyone camp fires and grills are prohibited by the letter of law, even with fire permitts. So bring your stoves to be legal. Wish I could join y'all but I'll be standing 24 hr duty at the base on Sat, have fun and be safe. :bawl:

Hey Joe,
So the forest service told me today and on monday that In the low elevations and moderate areas between the higher elevations there are no fires, so boards crossing is a no fire zone. I called the FS twice this week(actually called again this morn gin ) and each time they told me that hermit valley was fine and that anything on Slick Rock trail itself was fine to have fires, but anything past Hermit valley was not fine. I trust you more than the FS since you live up there, but now I am very confused ! Ill call them again tomorrow to be safe for a third time, if I get a third confirmation on fires in SR and hermit valley then I will say we are good, but now I don't know who to believe. I called hathawy pines station twice and spoke directly to a FS person.

ya come on over dude. We will hopefully be off DV early on sat and then head over and run SR sometime between noon and 3. If theres no traffic and we get that spot on the north side where the creek opens up we are solid. worst case is camp on the south end if its taken.

Jon go with what the Forest Service guys are telling you. I do know that all along the corridor they have their signs posted foe the primitive sites that there are restrictions. Along the 4 and in that area it may be fine. Along the 108 and 395 they are in restrictions.

Jon, you are correct about the fires. The fire restrictions in the lake alpine/slick rock area are very lenient.

Ya fires are getting shut down everywhere. Lake alpine is one of the last areas to have fires. I've heard pretty much everywhere is restricted. That's why it's surprising to see em still available at ale alpine

So I'm not taking the truck or dirt bike anymore. Keep an eye out for the swagger wagon (toyota sienna)
