We can meet up right at lake alpine
There's a place to eat and a few shops right across the road from te lake we can meet up there on Friday.
Or if you'd like to caravan and meet up somewhere before that works. I'm coming up 17 to 280/680 then 580 to Stockton and on hwy 4. Should take me maybe 4.5 hrs

Dude come on over. I'll be leaving sacto Friday after work. We can meet in Murphy's or at the 4 side of sr or the south side of sr . Depends on when you are coming up. Next Friday the 27th. Follow this thread for cb channel.pm me for my cell for anyone who wants to go too. Or if we get in early we can set up camp. Plus if the north side is taken we can put up plates and get in the cb or something for anyone coming later.

Ok so who's actually all going?
Plan is to meet in Arnold around 6:30pm this Friday. Either camp on slic rock trail at the creek on the north side or go to hermit valley campground and camp at deer valley trailhead.

nice. you might get there before we do.
The plan is to camp by that creek on the north side of SR, but if its taken we might just keep wheeling to the south end to camp so even though we plan on camping in a given spot it doesn't mean we will be there.
Lets pick a CB channel now. How about 28. and then if that doesn't work, 30, then 32. Of course I am arbitrarily choosing these channels we can pick any channel (s)

I'm definitely coming down tommorow. I've never been down there, is it easy to find the SR trailhead? And about how far in is the creek your planning on camping?

Actually there has been a slight change of plans.
Hermit valley campground is where we will be staged. That is where deer valley trailhead will be also. Plan is to run that Saturday morning and spend the evening on slick rock!
Google it and you can find directions. Pm blondejon your number and we can start a group txt with all attending.

So we will go to DV/hermit valet campground friday night so we can start DV first thing in the morning, then come back to camp, pack up the rigs, and head over to SR, run slick rock and camp either on the south side by duck creek bridge, or turn around and camp down the access road by the damn, or wheel out to the north side and camp up there.
its roughly 9 miles past lake alpine on the left hand side to DV, and everyone knows where SR is.
Get your fire permits!

So is slickrock a night run or Sunday run? Btw 4x4trail maps says deer valley is closed pending litigation.

DV is open from the stanislaus side up to the first water crossing, but closed from the el dorado side. I called the FS to verify this multiple times in the past year including this week.
We are running DV in the morning sat, that shouldn't take long. then we are packing up our gear and heading to SR. deepending on when we hit DV and how long it takes we could be hitting SR by noon or as late as 3pm, once we are camped and setup on SR somewhere, we will run it a few more times saturday. Boards is the sunday Day run .
BTW deer valley is easy to get to. Hermit valley campground is where you want to go. If you get there first just setup your tent and drink beer until we get there.
