If you look real close at the Orvis ash tray picture, you can see the lower dash of a RHD. A while ago a fellow in England posted a picture of his Orvis edition XJ. All we got were a few Orvis ZJs. I have seen the wood trim in the JY, though.

Yes, that picture I posted is of a European Jeep Cherokee. It was an Orvis edition, as can be seen on the ash tray lid. Some other characteristics that give it away is the rear fog lights switch that I was talking about when posting the picture, the headlight height adjustment on the lower left side of the dash fascia, as well as the most obvious, the shifter button being on the wrong side.

I also said it was a European Jeep when I posted it


As far as that woodgrain on the '97+, about 90% of the Limited models had that wood grain fascia, and some Classics had it too I believe. I don't think I've seen that wood grain shifter bezel or ash tray cover on the American Jeeps though.

So just went through a horrible break up. Or whatever it's called because I dont even know. Going through a lot of pain and crap. So I'm taking baby steps and putting myself in a better direction. Me and my buddy went to a park today that is near us. I took some pics of the Jeep and pics of the trail. Since I'm not red I cant post in the "Adventure forum" but here is what I got.


Please feel free to critique my ride. I would like to know if anything looks like it's missing or needs to be done.

What actually needs to be done is

1. Track arm

2. Touch up pain in some areas

3. Cut and fold inner fender trim as it put a nasty slice in my front tire at Rausch Creek.

4. I would love to grab a exhaust header and attempt to replace mine. (I can get one used at NE Jeep)

5. Front pinion seal (cheap but scary)

6. Oil pressure sending unit (junkyard?)
7. Rear brakes and perhaps some other maintence that I dont know of. My jeep is trying to tell me what it needs but I dont understand :\ I want to fix her up good! But trying. Baby steps.

I need a new "front bezel" that goes around the grill. It's chipped to hell and recently cracked it due to a tow strap I tucked under my hood. There is a list of things to be done. My dead steering and drifting is discouraging. Some of the noises I hear are as well. I wish I had a microphone to show all of you haha.

They set up check points. In the middle of the day. For no damn reason. They are simply robbing people of there money over stupid stupid things. No such thing as justice anymore.

Oh and I need to remove those lights from my bumper. I dont have a relay or a switch lol. Plus the passenger side light got water in it and it is a nasty rusty color now. Didn't even get to wire them in yet. Tsk tsk.

Anyone like my bumper trimming? Haha I dont know why but it looks like my jeep is missing something :\

2. Touch up pain in some areas ( that doesn't matter right now)

3. Cut and fold inner fender trim as it put a nasty slice in my front tire at Rausch Creek. (bump stops)

4. I would love to grab a exhaust header and attempt to replace mine. (I can get one used at NE Jeep) ( don't buy used get the apn header and grab a factory manifold gasket)

5. Front pinion seal (cheap but scary) (have a shop change it if you don't feel comfortable doing it)

6. Oil pressure sending unit (junkyard?) ( napa)
7. Rear brakes and perhaps some other maintence that I dont know of. My jeep is trying to tell me what it needs but I dont understand :\ I want to fix her up good! But trying. Baby steps. ( take stuff apart and inspect, replace if necessary)

You confused me so much by the way you did that. Yeah paint is not important. I need money to upgrade but I do plan on upgrading. Will bump stops limit flex? I dont want to do that APN headers I heard crack just as well. I'd have to get poly motor mounts. Front pinion seal I would have to read a lot more into. Oil pressure sending unit I'd rather junkyard than pay 40-60 dollars for. Rear brakes need to be redone. And my rear and front end dont sound great. I want to tear stuff down and replace as necessary when I get a good job and make good income. The jeep is too shaky and it feels like it it fall apart. (But I know she wont )

OK. umm if you get extended bump stops that;s exactly what they are for. limiting flex!

Oil sending unit just get new, trust us it's worth the money for the peace of mind it's done right... something crucial like that dont trust to a junkyard one that could crap out quickly. Suck it up and spend a few dollars.

I'm sure plently of people have done it here. Don't buy bumpstops, use hockey pucks.

I have 35's and I was rubbing in the front and cutting them on the front inner pinch seam in the wheel well. I just hammered it over added a few hockey pucks to the bumpstop. The rear I just cut and fold with no bumpstops.

When I 33's I had no rubbing anywhere and it flexed like crazy. I was willing to limit my articulation for more diff clearance.

hockey pucks are fine, it's a cheap mod on the same idea...
