Make sure you prep them really good. And yes, any color so long as its black.

You'll need to scuff those quite a bit, make sure no shiny is showing. Clean first with some sort of cleaner like brake parts cleaner, leaves no residue. Scuff, and I hear that aluminum primer works really good. Then paint with whatever you want.
Personally I wouldn't paint the rims black but that's just my opinion. I've personally taken a liking however to the limited edition Mickey Thompson Classic IIs, however I can't tell if it's because I like that wheel in its regular form or because the price is right.

I'm thinking of selling my Ravines and just sticking to silver rims like usual. Maybe some silver D windows would do the trick unless I can score some beadlocked D windows and paint them. Otherwise I want the regular M/T Classic IIs but am having a hard time finding a used set.

Jeeps dont look good with black wheels.

I prefer chrome.
To me it's either chrome or silver on my Jeep, I've just stuck with silver rims though. My Jeep came with silver rims and they have usually had silver or polished on them.
On the older XJs I like the white wagon rims, I don't think they would go good with my XJ but oh well.

White wagon wheels are the ulgyiest rims iv ever seen on a xj.

I think they would look good black... I've considered painting mine, but I have so many other things that are more important.

There was a pretty detailed thread on here somewhere about how to paint rims.

i was actually kidding.. i run rockcrawlers 15x10 and love them. they are very strong and look great.

chrome does not belong on a jeep.

A buddy of mine (SPXJ) Hit a large rock sticking out of the ground last weekend at around 35MPH and really bent his rims and they were leaking air, but with a few good blows with a 5 pound hammer they were beat back into shape on the trail and we kept going. Try that with an aluminum rim!

I think black rims look good on white jeeps or even blue, i really want to get the American Racing Mojave Teflon ones...

I got a set of 16's off of a Chrysler Liberty (I refuse to call those things a Jeep) scuffed them, used a decent self etching primer, and shot them black. They look great. But, as with all things, do what you want, Fork them if they can't take a joke.
