Shops for custom motor work/rebuilding in Indiana?

The local speed shop is long gone, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good shop in the Central IN area (or even close to the area) for headwork, rebuilds, etc. Toying with idea of a very basic stroker, or at least a little finessing of the stock motor. Anyone know of a shop that could build a 4.0 without costing an arm and a leg? I don't have the equipment or place to even attempt a swap or rebuild, and I'm not sure I'd try it if I did.

What I'd thought was just a ticking lifter is starting to sound more like a knock, and it's no longer just when cold. Hoping if it lets go soon, I won't get caught completely offguard, so I'm trying to figure out a plan in advance.

Thanks,
Chris

i use to work at a speed shop here in bedford. Cale Kerns Automotive Specialties. he does machine work and some rebuilds. 812-275-2365.

or try Terry Cummings Performance. he only does machine work and rebuilds. they are both very good and i would highly recomend them. they are both located in bedford indiana. i dont have terry cummings number but call cale kern and he can set you up.

And if you are going for "a little finessing of the stock motor" you may as well build a stroker you may spend an extra 300 bucks if that to get a basic stroker.

make sure its not the flex plate being cracked...i tore my motor out once and thought it was main bearings and it turned out to be the flex plate...i put fresh bearings, rings, and gaskets in it anyways...

mac 'either way the motor or trans still has to come out' gyvr
