Bore and hone $120
Presure test head / check flattness $40
check valve stem clearance $40
magnaflux $20 for the head
3 angle valve job $125~
Assamble $450!!!


thats $800, sound reasonable? I think i should have someone that knows what they are doing assemble the engine (i mean i know a little about a little, but i want this thing to run +100K).

just for the head ?? you should be able to get a complete head and block done for about $1200.00.

sorry, $450 was to assemble the entire engine....

When I built my stroker the machine work cost me $800. That was to check the block and head, bore the block .030 over, new rod bearings, rebuild the rods, grind the crank, ballance the entire rotating assymbly, new .030 pistons, 3 angle valve job, new valve guids, gasket kit, and assymble the head.

I did the assymbly on the motor so the only assymbly the shop did was installing the valves, springs, and retainers. For a rebuild you should be able to have it built for $1200 or so.
