Shock Towers

ok here are my initial mock-ups. Everything here is still in the first stages, I need to modify the size of the towers a little, and then figure out how far I can drop the front end, etc. But you get the basic Idea.

looks like you're going to run into issues stufing one side and drooping the other...
why not mount the shocks on the outside of your towers?

Are you angling them in so much to get a 'digressive' geometry to combat the progressive AS nature?

They are angled in as I original thought I would have to tilt them in more to keep them from going through the hood, but as you stated I can move them out quite a bit and they may end up inline with the frame rails.

As they sit in the model they do clear but it's very close...

Have you considered that you need to keep them between your tires but outside of your framerails?

Have you considered the lateral travel when using a panhard?

Have you considered that you must have bypass shocks to take the bypasses?

subscribing out of curiosity, will be doing similar soon but with a radious/ 3 link with a panhard design

thanks for the link, looks like something similar has been done before so I'm going with them. Time to get everything finalized.

Also remember that the axle moves front to back under compression / droop, with the mounts like you have, with a Mid arm style suspension, you may run into issues with front to back clearance...

one thing to think about with the angle of the shocks is that the shocks can only apply force allong the shock - so the more angle there is, the more planes you'll have to constrain, and the 4.0 intake manifold is not exactly awesome for space under the hood.
