SEC Beach Trip

It's time to talk about a date for the SEC beach trip. I will give plenty more details later, but for those who don't know this is a camping trip on the beach at Freeman Park in Carolina Beach, NC. Drive the jeeps on the beach, camp, do beach stuff, chit chat and relax. Last year had the most attendance with KPTHEMP coming over from TN! This is a DD/street legal rig event. 4wd is strongly recommended for driving on the beach.

This is traditionally done in August, we try and push it back as far as possible to rebuild traveling funds after the Crawl, but not too late in August to accommodate families with school-age children.

Who is interested, and if we have any families with kids coming, how late can we push the date?

I'd like to see mid-late August. That way there's time to re-coup funds / fix what ever breaks at the crawl.

Last year I parked the Jeep after the crawl and didn't move it until the 4 hour drive to the beach. Wasn't the best of ideas.....

For those who might be coming from TN, if you wanted to split the drive into two days we could work out overnight arrangements at my house. If we get a date nailed down, i'll probably take that Friday off work and head to the coast on Friday morning.

Count me in tentatively, being a college student I've mastered the art of cheap beach trips, and seeing as how I can't let myself break anything major at the Crawl I should be back up on funds by then. Anyone in the Charlotte area let me know if you'd like to convoy down or need a ride.

IDK If I'll do a weekend or a day trip. Only a two and half to three hour drive for me. What do you have to do to fish there? I've always wanted to fish on the beach and never done it!
