Search Qustion (again)

So a couple weeks ago I asked a question about doing a search for "SYE"
and the response I got was a link to how to do an advanced search
to try and narrow down my searches. A helpful link, but....

After trying a few more searches, this is what I think is happening....
The search engine does not try and search for anything less than 4 letters long.

Cant search for SYE, D30, 297 or any other 3 letter/number combinations

Any chance on a fix??

you need to search for SYE* D30* 297* add the wildcard.....you can;t search for 3 character terms
