Schmidts salvage yard trip this fri or sat...

I think I am going to hit up Schmidts junkyard outside of Waunakee, WI this Friday AM or Saturday AM. JY trips are fun alone but sometimes you find a diamond in the rough that needs a couple extra hands. Ill be looking for some XJ interior trim pieces, ac compressor parts for my XJ, maybe ZJ disc brake parts, a TH350 trans yoke, possibly a d44 if I get super lucky. Anybody want in?

I didn't think Schmidt's was open on the weekends. That is a new one on me. Maybe I have been missing out. I usually go Mondays.

Not this Monday though. I doubt they will be open.

Is this a pick-n-pull yard? Do they have lots of Jeep stuff? I'm new in WI, and looking for good parts sources. Thanks.

It is a pick n pull type place. They have some Jeeps but definitely not alot. Maybe 10 XJs 3 or 4 WJs, 3 or 4 ZJs a couple old full size cherokees and maybe a YJ and a TJ. I would call it a parts source, I dont know if I would call it a good parts source. Are you near Madison? If you are near Milwaukee there are more options that are closer and probably more worth your time.

I usually go to Schmidt's for small stuff. For bigger stuff I call Morrison's or Newville down in Edgerton.
