I was at my wifes cousin's house tonight in Schererville Indiana and saw a flat black XJ down the street with maybe 3 - 4 inch lift (I think it was Rancho lift). Just wondering if this was someone from NAXJA?

That would be I. I am just off St. John Rd. in Lakeview subdivision. Still live with the parent folk. No Rancho parts here, just RE, RC.

I have seen you before a few times around the area. Just havent been able to flag ya down to chat.

Well nice to meet an almost neighbor. I was at the cousins for a party Saturday and saw you walking out to the XJ, but I couldn't break away to chat. My son has the red XJ with 5.5" lift and my stock wheels and tires (for now at least). I just ordered the rough country 3" AAL (I know the new spring pack is better but you do what you can afford) so I am looking forward to being a little taller and ready for some off-road. Hope to actually bump into you soon.

Ok if you are going to do the AAL kit, might i suggest doing the S10 bastard pack for the rear? Thats what i did and got 3.5in. Plus there are plenty of those leafs at the local PnP and its alot cheaper than the new packs. Doesnt ride that hard because the new leafs that are added are already softened up by being used previously.

Just some food for thought.

I always wondered if he had another set of wheels/tires cause those might be good for the street but veeeeerrrry bad for mild off road situations.

They suck a lot. but I should be getting some new rubber in the not-too-distant future. I am blackcat01's son, if you hadnt already caught on.

I may have to look into that. With only 3" springs in the front do you end up with 3.5 in the rear and 3 in the front? Thanks for the info.

Got and extra 1/2 inch by adding another rubber insulator in the spring pocket on the body side of the spring. If that makes any sense. So now i have 2 stacked together.

The S10 pack isnt that hard, the only hard part about it is wallowing out the hole in the Main leaf on the jeep so that the center pin will fit in the hole. If you have a diegrinder it will be so much easier.

Oh btw what kind of lift do you have on the tall red xj hammondrckr?

I will have to keep an eye for you guys, I get up your way about once a month. Inlaws live in Cedar Lake and a sister in law in Crown Point

Yes makes perfect sense. I may do this later - twice the work but I want to get the lift on and get her off-road.

His is a R.E. 5.5 short arm.

Wow more jeepers up here in NW Indiana finally. Course mine is always hidden in the garage since it never sees the highway - only the trails.
