Scenic Wheeling Picture Thread

To make up for all the Toyota pics, took two jeeps to Broken Arrow this morning.
Son-in-law had a blast driving the 99, he'd never done anything like that before.

Our family has been exploring the Blue Hills area east of Rice Lake, Wisconsin for many years. Always wondered about the short jog in County W, and why they didn't eliminate it when they paved it.
Amazing what you can find on Google maps...

Parked at the trailhead on the original gravel road

Our rental was a 2024 Compass Trailhawk, complete with Trail Rated badges. Didn't really put it to the test, but one nice thing about it was a good place to heat food

We also did some exploring in a Chippewa County forest. 155th Street north of one of many Rock Lakes

Another summer trip to Ouray, CO. I never gets old!

Great pics! We love Ouray, especially when wildflowers are blooming.
We flew over Colorado on our way to Wisconsin and saw snow on many peaks, and lots of gold below from the aspens.
That pic from Last Dollar road would probably be way better now. But it's hard to take a bad picture there.
Just like Moab, you can just about point your camera in any random direction and get a great picture.

Thank you. And you're so right… just close your eyes and shoot. And get a beautiful shot almost every time. We love it there; been going for over 30 years. Still find something new all the time. That waterfall we named "Hidden Falls" is tucked back in a small campsite off the trail up to Silver Basin. We've been driving right by it for 30 years an never knew it was there. One of the most beautiful features I've personally seen out there. You can literally walk right up to the base of the falls and take a cold shower, if you're so inclined. Just spectacular!

Agreed about Moab -- we've been exactly once for the NAXJA 30th Anniversary Fall Fling (some photos), and it was awesome. When we arrived there was virtually no color in the trees, but when we left a week later the color was just settling it. Loved it! Can't wait to go back.

Wonderful scenery!

We spent the last three weeks of January on the Big Island of Hawaii. Scenic everywhere, but a few places actually involved wheeling with a little bit of ground clearance, and a couple actually required 4wd.
This was at South Point, the southernmost point of the US. None of the mall crawler rental jeeps made it to this parking area

Parked above Green Sand Beach. Made it all the way there in 2wd

Kai'ole Bay east of Green Sand Beach. Needed 4wd a couple times to get there. Didn't see one other vehicle until we were on our way out

Mauna Kea R-1, which goes all the way around Mauna Kea from the access road to Saddle Road, from about 9000' to 7000'.
We've done the whole loop a few times but just did about 8 miles then back this time. Incredible views along most of it.
