One of my jeepin buddies builds and maintains cell phone towers for a living. Sprint wanted a tower built on top of Navajo Mountain so he had to go up for a site survey. I tagged along.
Work trucks going up the switchbacks on the "road" to the peak.
Overlooking the entrenched meanders of the Dirty Devil River from Poison Springs Canyon road on the way to the Maze District of Canyonlands National Park.
The colorful Moenkopi Formation in lower Red Canyon. Jared's Cherokee is obvious but can you find Bryon's TJ? They are thoroughly muddy from driving over a hundred miles of wet dirt roads.
John Ford Point. The Navajo who call this place home have names for all of these places in their own language. It is one of the most diffcult languages for non-natives to learn so they use English names for the tourists.
I'm looking forward to another year's worth of scenic wheeling! Some places I am thinking of exploring- Canyon de Chelly and the north side of Lake Powell and the Grand Staircase.
