Scenic Wheeling Picture Thread

Where I work its a big no-no to drive on the beach without a permit, we have Rangers and Natural Resource officers that patrol, and thats $100 right there.

A little bit older

oh trust me, it was a big nono to drive on the beach w/out a permit too, i just went on there to get those pics, the funny thing (not really) is that right after, i mean RIGHT after, i got off the beach, and throu the parkinglot to the road, there was the coper....i was that close

Ya, I wasn't flaming on you or anything, just saying. I remember one time I was out there with another ranger, cause we had a camper stuck on the inbound lane of our access trail. While standing there, a truck tried driving out, and ended up getting stuck and blocking the outbound portion of the trail at the same time. Big tie up, and turns out the guy didn't even have a sticker, the ranger wasn't going to give him a ticket at first, but the guy was just a major d**che bag to us, and tried blaming it on me, and she was like I wasn't going to before, but heres your ticket, and we told him to get off the beach.

Headed out to the in-laws place just outside of Ellensburg, WA for Turkey Day. I noticed that the hills were catching some good snow, so I stopped in for a few and then excused myself so that I could take a quick drive.

Here is a shot headed north on Colockum Rd.

And a few minutes later...

I was by myself, so I took it easy and just enjoyed the scenery. Apparently I was not alone. I spotted what looked like really fresh Cougar tracks right along the road when I stopped to take a picture. Looked like a female and a juvenile. Not wanting to be a Thanksgiving dinner myself, I moved on.

Here I wanted to get a sense of how my newly installed JKS rear bumpstops were setup. Not much out there to flex up on, but I was able to get a good idea. The distance between the bumpstop and the plate was just about right for the room left in the wheel well. This setup was way over due. Two trips to Moab and one to the Rubicon with no bumpstops resulted in a decent amount of sag in the rear springs.

All in all, it was a fun little excursion despite the fact that I didn't get to spend as much time exploring as I would have liked. Here are some shots that I thought were cool. Thanks for looking, and Happy Thanksgiving.
