SC Dusey Run September 2005

Thanks Richard. Whoever wants to go, let's meet up late Friday 9/2 at the North staging area or early Saturday 9/3 and start the trail around 9 a.m. or so to give us a good start. I wouldn't be against going 1/2 way in and then back out the North end depending on how things go.

Richard, is this trail truely like the Rubicon or Fordyce? That's all I can compare it to at the moment because that is all I have run. Is it continuely challenging where you cannot let your guard down much, or are they long periods of mild stuff? Just wondering, I'll do more research on it.

Yes, that's what it's like. But, it's much more remote so you want a minimum of problems.

If you're putting together a run you can do it anyway that you want to. However, you won't get an idea of how many people are going to go until you get within a few weeks of the trip. That is a decent time to run the trail, since it's already a 3 day weekend, and there should be some folks who want to run it. If you announce it to everyone in the country you probably won't get many NAXJA people because it's better to run it with a smaller group. A bigger group means a slower pace, more troubles, and more likelyhood of rigs not being properly equipped.

Troy, you REALLY need to slow the f*#k down. You're ansy-ness and anxiety over this stuff is driving the rest of us crazy. We exert an extreme amount of patience giving you decent responses. If you can't find a way to sit back and relax and get with the flow of the group, you are going to find yourself in a situation of no one wanting to run or hang out with you because you are such a PITA. You need to be much less noticeable around here. Much more of this constant posting, pushing and asking questions and you are going to find yourself on IGNORE mode from the rest of us.

Now, I don't want apologies........I want you to back off!!! Please, before you post, really stop and think about what you are about to post, is it necessary or helpful, and for damn sure read what you post before you hit the button.

Can I get an amen brother? Well said. But how many times can we ALL say it and have him still not get it.

Grow up Troy, we are all tired of dealing with you and your BS.

Ok, I can't sit and watch this anymore. Troy, I know you want to wheel. Hell, I spend way too much time looking at run pictures myself. But there's more to being ready to run JV than a built rig. If I tried running JV now in Goatman's rig, or Jes', or Crash's, or Porch Puppy's, or Paul S', or SeanP's, or...(you get the point?), I'd fail horribly. I'm going to hang out up here, on my local trails, and get seat time. If the guys who run JV decide I know what I'm doing AND my rig is ready, I may consider heading down for a run. Until then, I'm going to have fun where I can.

I suggest you do the same.

And please, oh dear god please, don't post so much. We get it. Like Brett's front leaf springs and Toy 8", we get it.

EXACTLY! You see, Troy, no one wants to come right out and say it, but we've been giving pretty damn good hints. We go to JV becuase it is fun wheeling. We work like crazy (and sometimes spend like crazy too) so we can go and not break down. We mostly don't like running with large groups or with people we don't know because we want to wheel, not sit around on the trail waiting for people who either break or don't know how to drive......and there is a lot of opportunity out there for both.

When we think someone is ready, we'll invite them. Now, there is some latitude there, we're not an elite bunch of snobs, and we want new people to go, we just want to be somewhat comfortable that they're ready for it. If someone who has never gone before makes an attempt to set up a run, you won't get any response from us....we're not going to bite. I can't say it any planer than that. You get your rig built, get some seat time in it, quit being a baby on the forums so people want to be around you, and you will likely get what you are wanting. If you haven't picked up on it yet, folks around here sort of make fun of mostly webwheelers (SeanP is a good example :)), and you defintely qualify, whether you like it or not, since you post so damn much all the time, and say the same things over and over so damn often.......and also because you post specs in you sig that you haven't even done to your rig yet (get rid of that, would you?).

Step back, and be patient enough to build up to this stuff........just like all the rest of us have done. And for heaven's sake quit posting so much!! Do yourself (and us) a favor and count the number of posts you have in threads that you participate in and try to stay close to the same numbers as others who are posting in the same thread.

You are a young man, much younger than I am, you have plenty of wheeling years ahead of you. Relax.

Sticky time?

I haven't said anything more since I read Richard's post. I respect Richard alot and have :gag: so why don't the rest of you already? Only post if you want to do the Dusy run or contribute something useful. I know I have to give it a rest. Now all of you guys that need to restate what Richard said just shut up already, I get the message loud and clear.
