Big Red said:Sounds good. I was just trying to get people to think about when and where they wanted to go. I wasn't trying to give anyone hell. I'm going to use a PTO day at work for the Swamp Lake run and I don't really want to use another 1 for wheeling because my family in IL always wants me to come out there, but because the Dusy trail is so long 2 days is really pushing it by the sounds of the terrain and its length. I did the Rubicon in 1 day with many stops and made it through a 19 hour Fordyce trip last summer so I don't mind a nearly 24/7 2 day run day & night. I have rock lights and like night wheeling anyways. It's so peaceful, quite, colder, and the stars are shining bright. Great time to wheel to avoid the traffic jams on the Con during the day. We should make good time because Dusy isn't as famous as the Rubicon so that should be good. Hopefully we can keep the breakdowns and downtime to a minimum and start the trail on Friday night and finish on Sunday night. I'll see if I can find the club you said does this run and/or see if I can find someone with experience on it that would want to join us. Maybe I can get my Boonie Bouncers club in Roseville to come out, they are a great good of people.![]()

Bryan C Why don't you plan and organize a run. Or are you afraid nobody will show up. Can't imagine why nobody wants to wheel with you.[/QUOTE said:As you can see by my good rep/rock rash points, people love me. Who won some $ off of the bet on me??? Congrat to that person, glad to help. :laugh3:
I just have some "cabin fever" and want to wheel, sorry to be annoying.
ChuckD said:Here it is Troy, since your seem to be scheduling impaired, since I am your VP, I feel obligated to help you out.
Here's the dates: 1-4 Sep
Meet at the Dinkey Creek camp ground Thurday night on the 1 Sep.
Hit the trail on Friday 2 Sep @ 8am, starting at Courtright.
There is no changing the dates, they are set in stone! If you really want to go on this run, plan accordingly!
I call Big Red (aka Troy) as your trail run coordinator. He will be expected to coordinate the trail activities, food and hopefully find you a decent trail leader. I'll be pray for you guys while I am in TX.

basalt51 said:Ask Goatman and Andy how fun it is to tow those people through 5 miles of trail. You won't want to have to do it for 15 miles.
basalt51 said:I guess you're right, he might not be smart enough to tow them the short way![]()
Big Red said:Thanks Jason, is the trail that hard? I read that it is Rubicon like, so I guess so. Sorry, I was thinking about Swamp Lake when I wrote this. Hope to have a good group on this nice long 3 day weekend in Sept. I'm staying clear on the Rubicon that weekend for all the traffic on it.
Goatman said:You'll want 32" tires minimum, with one hard locker (not limited slip), and rock rails, and the appropriate spare parts. To run the trail in three days will be like running the entire Rubicon each day. You don't want many problems.
That is a good weekend to run the trail. By runnning it from north to south, you have a better chance of getting the good camp spots at Ershim Lake, since most groups will likely run it south to north. It's a ways out, just post up the dates and times and let it happen.
Big Red said:Thanks Richard. Whoever wants to go, let's meet up late Friday 9/2 at the North staging area or early Saturday 9/3 and start the trail around 9 a.m. or so to give us a good start. I wouldn't be against going 1/2 way in and then back out the North end depending on how things go.
