I don't see why not. Red tops charge the same way as any other battery you would use in your Jeep.

I use one similar to that that I got at Walmart for 19 bucks. It is made by Duracell and has lasted over two years now.

Not true,AGM batteries are very different from Lead Acid battteries.Look for a charger thats designed to charge them(I beleive the "Battery Tender" is one).

Interesting. I always just used the chargers I had on my optima battery. Never even thought to check if it was compatible. Good to know.

Something about having lower internal resistance(according to optima's FAQ on their site)

if an optima falls below 10v a standard charger will read it as a dead short inside and the charger's internal protection circuits will not allow it to charge. You're reading up on optima's webpage for the info, that's a good place to start. I get customers turning in "bad" red tops all the time as cores, i started saving them and trying to charge them on an AGM charger after reading that info, i've gotten 4 perfectly good red tops out of it.
