i did some searching and i can't seem to find what 40 series muffler or 50 series muffler comes with Rusty's exhaust... can someone tell me, the series and which one they prefer. from what i've read, the 40 series is louder.

my rustys kit came with a 40 delta flow... its loud but at idle and mid rmps it has a good noise i think higher rpms (like and up) its a lil ricey but it is a 6... i also got the highflow cat (magnaflow) with the flowmaster, cat, and pipe installed you deffinitly can feel a power boost, sounds good to... wait for it to get some miles on it and it mellows out..

nevermind everyone, i went to the rustys site and it DOES mention delta flow. i guess i missed that the first time around. i think i'm gonna go with the 50 since i want something that sounds nice, but on the quieter side.

got mine from rustys about a 1 1/2 yr ago and the inlet to the 50 has cracked around the weld...make sure you get some added support hangers...if i were you i would get that kit he has with k-n filter, throttle spacer etc...good buy for the price and makes a improvement on over all performance...oh yeah dont forget on a decent header ||charles||

I wouldn't put a header until yours cracks. Mine did and I put a borla header. Seat of the pants dyno showed very little gains for the $$.

I've read that the stock header is just as good as aftermarket as far as flow goes. I could be wrong but, a header runs about 3 bills and that money could be put into suspension or something else you need until your stock header cracks.

I also think you should get the airtube with the exhaust. The combination of the two makes a nice difference.

What about replacing that crazy looking squished header pipe? Mine looks like that too and have often wondered if replacing that alone would help.

i had a local shop do mine with 2.5 all the way through and i dunno if it made a huge difference but i think the pinches for clearance do get down to 1.5 or smaller but i have a flowmaster 40 and a random cat... it does look a little nicer and the guy tucked it up under the jeep a little better... banks makes one to called a downtube with their torque tube header... technically yes it improved flow but i cant really tell much difference at all... cost me about 40 bucks
