Rusted Lugs won't come off

Alright this doesn't have to do with a Jeep, or a car for that matter.
The Lugs on my dad's boat trailer are rusted and don't want to come off. No big deal that they are rusted, because they do go into salt water, but it seems like they have changed sizes or something, because no wrenches want to fit on them, and when it does go on a good distance and you turn it, the metal acts like butter and just twists and so it then becomes stripped

Anyone know how get them off, sprayed PB Blaster on them twice and still nothing.

Cut them off. You have to replace the studs anyway.

the first thing I said to my dad when he asked me if I had any suggestions to his problem was break out the torch and cutting wheel and lets have some fun...and was just like I don't think so.

I forgot to say I was posting this question for my dad's sake to see if there is anything we could do before cutting them off, cause this is exactly what I was thinking he would have to do.

yup torch that sob off, unless its salvagable and you can use a BFH to pund a smaller socket on there and then use some leverage to get em off, but if its traditional 30 year old cape cod rust then grab the torches

Did you try a nut breaker(what ever the official name is) Little object with a hardened bolt that you crank down and it breaks the nuts in half? Most auto stores should have them. Possibly HomeCheapo or Loews.

in that case I suggest you read the instructions multiple times before attempting to use it

Maybe you could try one of those special sockets Sears sells for getting off rounded nuts. If you heat the nuts up good and hot with the torch first, they should come off if you can get a grip on them.

For badly rounded nuts I usually keep some cheap Asian sockets around, and just take one that's a little smaller than the required size and hammer it on. Once again, though, it helps a lot to get the nut red hot first.

I think what he is saying is that the stud is now stripped. In that case you will either have to split the lug or cut/torch the thing off. Or you could get an impact wrench and try spinning it off, just loosen until it's stripped then tighten until it breaks.
