OK I am going to commit to this if I get the gas money I will be there.

What do you have for steering? Have you welded your lower control arm mounts, both frame and axle? Do you carry a good 35" spare? How about a spare driveline? Yoke? Draglink and tie rod?

What do you know how to fix? Can you change a front or rear axle?

We're running Outer Limits on Saturday, which is probably the hardest trail at JV. We need to know that we can get you out.

Dear Gawd, I might have to get the tow rig in shape just to make this trip.

Can nobody read what I am ACTUALLY SAYING if you have the money do gears but that WAS NOT WHAT HE WAS ASKING he asked if anyone ran this combo and I do. When I bought the tires I was going to do gears but it had to go to other unforseen things. As for the challenge ANYONE IS WELCOME TO TRY TO GO WHERE I CANT IN A CHEROKEE IT WONT HAPPEN WITH 35 INCH TIRES

Stock jeep with 2inch lift and bald tires. I'll High lift tow myself anywhere you go, bring it on :kissyou:

Geez! I go away for 16 hours and the thread doubled in size! I wanna see the pix of the end results! Or else a good shot of the bottom of his sneakers and a pair of elbows when the guy runs away from the sight of those trails  Good luck,AZ,you're gonna need it!

Hey AZ Man. On a serious note, if you need help getting yo sh!t together. Toss me a PM. I am out in Mesa more often than not. I really hope you do make it to JV, whether you are in your Jeep or someone elses. Everyone there is really fun and wont give you to much Hell. If you have a welder, I can burn some beads to get that thing so pieces are not falling off.

Oh! And it gets colder than a mother out that at night. So don't forget a WARM sleeping bag!

 MATT

First to the AZ boys and AzXJman, were doing the Florence/Martinez area next weekend(15-16th) if anyone is interested.
Second:All this talk about JV makes me want to go!I typically run 4.0-4.5+,I enjoy wheeling but not carnage! What I dont have is engine/trans/transfer skids(yet). What do you all think?

We don't enjoy carnage either, that's why we build our junk so it doesn't break. And what's this talk about 4.0-4.5+ trails? I've run Judgementday, Predator, Lower Terminator, Axle Alley, and Woodpecker in AZ and the Hammers trails are far more difficult in my opinion. Don't know what those AZ trails are "rated".
Here's the minimum equipment...
"Minimum equipment is 33" tires and two lockers, no 260x axle joints, no D35's. If you have 35" tires, no stock steering. Front axle joints should be snap ringed, not c-clipped."
...add to that, if you have stock gearing don't come, winch highly recommended, spare parts, rocker protection, skid plates, and not caring too much about body damage.

Check my insert,Ive got most everything else covered! As far as trail ratings go upper woodpecker is supposed to be a 4.5.That being said I find all the trails change every time we go,sometimes easy, sometimes harder.

Okay, then, what IS the break point (and yeah, there are varibles) on regearing? I run 33's with stock gears and a lunchbox (lock right) in the back with the dana 35. Assume just 2-3-4 trails. Soon as the swampers are treadbare, being replaced with procomp mud/rock/whatevers. Trail rig. My daily driver is a Saturn, so show pity
