just got the jeeper back from the dealer who tells me there is nothing wrong. On the way home my jeep dies in the middle of the intersection during rush hour and wont restart for like 20 minutes. After it restarts it acts like nothing went wrong. I changed the rotor in the distributer, changed wires, spark plugs. What could be wrong? When it dies, it just losses power, no thumps no nothing.

Check the TPS - there's a bunch of threads on this site about symptoms/replacement etc.... Easy to change out and relatively cheap too.

Yes it would, if there were no code's then I would look at a fuel problem, bad pump, relay, tank vent or filter.swebilius said:

Start by changing the filter, the pump you just need to listen for it, tank vent could be a plugged line, when it stops remove the gas cap and see if it starts.swebilius said:

Historically the most common failure linked to a random engine stall that comes back is the CPS. I know it is recommended for everything from hickups to heartburn here on the forum, but it does fit the symptoms in this case.

I had the same problem. No codes showed and it was the cps. It is a random and varied faliure as the sensor dies. Stay away from aftermarket cps's as they often crap out after a day or week, the mopar part is reliable and comes with a warranty and is only a few dollars more. It takes about 30 minutes to switch it out yourself but if you have large hands or forarms it will be a nightmare and might be worth paying the stealership some bucks to do it for ya. Good luck!

They are all crap..... I still have the part shipping bag and box both of which say mopar on them. I don't recall saying the mopar cps was good I do recall saying that it has warranty.
