Ross's Jeep that will take longer than Rob's to build thread...

"I've been so so busy with work now, and plus I have a gf so my Jeep is on the backburner blah blah blah blah"

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

Blah blah blah......

Cut a big hole and put a big dumb t-case into place. Had to notch out a small section of the crossmember to clear the Stak. More floor will go bye-bye too, the stock seat almost kinda fits back in. Once I button a the floor/tranny tunnel back up, I'll mod some seat brackets/get fancy seats/or use some random earlier jeep seats that have more room.

Waiting on RuffStuff to deliever my order so I can get the steering/trackbar layed out and build the second crossmember and back mounts for the Stak. Also borrowing Colin's M8000 so I can finish my front stiffys and build a front crossmember.

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

so that's what an intact floor looks like.
I pulled my carpet today, knowing it had become load bearing years ago... even after sitting in the garage for about 8 months now, from under the front seat to the rear seats floor was STILL damp. the only reason that part didn't rust out was that it hadn't gone through the floor so there was no oxygen to start rusting.

needless to say I have much less floor, and I had to cut out about x4 what you did. lucky SOB.

nice t-case.

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

Holy XXXXing enormous STAK.

I'd double check your driveshaft clears the floor with the tcase clocked up that high.

Mine barely cleared and my tcase is 1/4 the size of yours.

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

you are building a dumb jeep around a cool transfer case

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

Where's your build so we can shit on it, ya croc?

It was "done" till my chic decided to monster truck over a neon last Friday......after the insurance comes by Monday I'll start a new build thread

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

Ross would you do some damn work to this thing?! At this rate Rob will finish before you.

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

Ross is building something?

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

Ive acquired fancy racing seats and some (IIRC) 4pt harnesses since my mom requested a factory bench seat to be put back into our 66 Mustang. I also unpacked my tools from NACfest which prompted me to clean my shop. Ive even started touching the jeep again and hope to have trackbar/steering laid out this weekend. Maybe Ill even start cycling the suspension...

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

You have a week. Or cmelo will come and pillage your back yard and rape black jeep.

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

Maybe if he wasn't completely head over heels for that POS red Jeep he has, then stuff would get done. I only hope he realizes that it sucks, and that no one at any point, besides him, considers that thing "cool."

Re: Ross's Box and Sticker Collection

Stuff at stuff. Got some steering laid out, gotta finish plating the front so I can toss the trackbar junk on. Cut apart the stock front crossmember, gotta buy a winch this week to figure out the new layout. Gotta get new belts for the Bridgeport the finish drilling holes for Colin's bender parts and for drilling out my steering stuff.

At full-ish bump, the axle UCA mount clears the bottom of the framerail by ~1". The truss clears the oil pan by ~1.5". The draglink/trackbar will be a little bit closer I think. I changed from a stock XJ pitman arm to one with like 3/4" less drop, this will help bring the frame side TB mount further up the rail to help clear the truss/coil bucket at stuff.
