Rookie to XJ, but oldtimer with AMC/Jeep

Just bought this cherry 87 Cherokee Chief 2 door 4.0/AW4/231 for my son who has heretofore been driving an 88 Eagle Wagon. I have always been into AMC's and the larger Jeeps (have several Wagoneers, 3 J10's and 2 J20's) but have always liked the XJ's... AFTER the V6 era passed!

New to the site and don't time to figure out pic posting procedures, but here's the link.

What do you think? Runs great... just made the trip from Denver to Sparta, MO. I would like to make the front qrtr pic my avatar, but the "edit avatar" references "custom" avatars.. just haven't figured out how to get there yet!

As soon as I am allowed to post on the wanted section, I am going to be looking for the front bumper brackets and, if I can find one close by, a good front bumper as the original is a little cut up.

I have always recommended this forum to anyone I have known with an XJ, and now I am one of them!

Jesse, you might also want to take a look at the sticky at the top of the forums about registered users and forum supporters. At the moment, you're a registered user. For starters, you're not a club member (although that is rather highly recommended...) Registered users have limited site privileges (no posts in the national classifieds,) no custom avatars, etc.

Nice find. I had the same problem when I bought my ole 87, I just scoured JY's till I found one that made a suitable replacement.
