rockkrawler 8.0" long arm kit

i would like to try and stay away from the 3 link design i havent done much research on radius arms so im not very familiar on how they work. ive been doing alot of reading on old threads and it seems like out of 8 pages theres maybe 2 or 3 lagitamate answers that give you a real opinion from people who have actually used both kits and all the rest of the 8 pages is just bull shit.

Curious as to why you want to stay away from the 3-link design. It's quite a proven design that works quite flawlessly, but everyone has their own opinion. Curious to yours, it helps us get feedback.

i have nothing against it. i guess its just cause of my lack of knowledge of the 3 link i just get a funny feeling about leaving one control arm to do the work of two. i guess i should go watch some of these kits in action to see exactly what i want.

Not to sway you away from the Clayton lift. But what about rusty's long arm. I have the 8 inch long arm on my xj and have had no problems. Also It's cheaper Witch means more money left over for your project. :)

how long have you had it?

I've had it on my xj for about a year now. I us it for work and play. Also A couple of guys (gator 4x4) are runing the same kit but the 6.5inch version of it. No problems with there's as well.

ya my brother has the 6.5 rusty's kit and he hates it. he has alot of problems with it sagging. have you noticed any sag in urs? and is that the only kit youve ever owned?

Yea Rusty's had a problem a while ago with there leaf springs sagging. But sense has repaired this problem. Rusty's even wrote a quick thing about it.

This is my third XJ and most extreme.
First xj was 86 with 3.5 tuf country lift kit (31's)
Second was 91 with 5.5 extreme rubicon express and 2in spacer/blocks.
Third is my 92 with rusty's. Out of all of them my third one is the best. Drive's better then the first two as well.
I have not noticed any spring sagging I'm also running tera flex revolver shackles on the back to. Witch is a lot more twisting on the leaf springs.

I am running the RK longarm with the rustys 8.5 - 9" springs along with 2 stacked coil isolators.. this kit made a world of difference in flex and the way the single upper arm is set up.. i totally trust it for reliability.. i had to go over and tighten everything a couple times all around for it to be rock solid and make no noise.. but for the price of this kit, i would say its a great deal and definitely worth it.
