Ring & Pinion Brands

What ring and pinion brands are good? I'm sure Spicer is good, but are some of the cheaper ones just as good, or should I stick with spicer gears? I'm looking into getting a 4.10 R&P for my front D30. What should I have done at the same time? Bearings & seals? Anything else in there? I already know about my locker options and carrier break and all that.

And also who has the best prices on new gears?

ditto on the Dana/Spicer gears,it also makes set-up easier! As for the 8.25",take your shot at it,how about Chrysler, maybe theyde run quiet!

I just replaced the whole 8.25 axle with a newer one from a junkyard with 4.10's already in it, so I don't have to worry about the rear. I've been looking around forever for a whole 30 with 4.10's but the cheapest I can find one is $450 and I'd have to give them the core. Lee's 4-Wheel Drive here in Tucson will set up gears for $200, so if I'm going to pay that much I'd rather have new stuff put in it. I hate to spend anything more than $100-$200 on the D30, but I have virtually no fab experience and just don't have the $ for a nice D44 front from Currie and don't want an LP axle from a waggy.
