RESCUE ALERT BAND
I know some of you get out and about some and even somtimes alone. We all know the bands people wear like "Live Strong" supporting Lance Armstrongs cancer org.
Well here's one for you... it's the same kind of band but it's for Medic type rescues or just good samaritans. The band has a medic alert insignia and a 8 digit number with an 800 phone number to call.
You register with them on the net... you list emergancy contacts and any other pertenite info along with any medical info you want. Can even detail the outing you are on with info like how many and whom you are with.
I already have mine... in the USMC I had dog tags always worn for info. Now I have this band. Get hurt bikeing, kayaking or anything else where my wallet may not be with me and I'm covered. Even if it does not work it gives me a "Warm Fuzzy" feeling
The people organizing this are surfers from HI but have a nice setup. They have been certified by rescue organizations and the word is getting out.

Very cool...now, if they didn't come in such gay colors! Just a simple, solid black would be nice.

I kayak and canoe alot, and so i went ahead and ordered one for the wife (she has medical allergies) and I. I figure not a bad investment, we will most likely only wear them when we are doing outdoors activities. I can see this being a great idea for people who have kids!
