replacing spots in my floor boards

i have a 89 xj that someone put an after market sunroof in and wouldnt ya know it that it leaks like crazy and spots of the floor are rusting out i was wonderin what guage sheet metal i should use to patch the holes if anyone could help it would be great thanks

i tore the carpet out of my 96 a few weeks ago and what a mess i found...and i don't even have a sun roof...i'll be tackling it in the new couple of months...not sure what thickness i'm going to use...

i have to replace nearly 50% of the floor.

I used 18 guage for spots on mine. Replacement pans are available for nearly the whole floor. You will also find that most of our floors are fairly flat, depending upon where the rust is it might be just as easy to make your own patches instead of purchasing pans. Much cheaper also.
