Hello all,
I figured I would contribute some since I usually thumb through here. I had to replace my headlight switch and figured I would give a step by step for someone that may need it one day.
1. Remove Instrument Panel Bezel. 4 Philip head screws.
2. Remove the 3 Philips screws on cig lighter to access screws behind
3. remove 1 Philips head on accessory panels on each side of the column to make the cluster removal easier.
4. Remove the Cluster. 6 Philips screws.
5. Remove speedo cable if equipped. Mine has one with cruise control. You could either disconnect at cluster or at the cruise sensor about 5in down the cable. It is a tight fit and have to pull the cluster out just enough to reach around from the right side.
Also disconnect the connector for the warning lights module on the left side so you can swing the cluster out of the way. Also a good time to replace any bulbs that have gone out.
6. Remove headlight pull knob. Can be done from underneath or through the space that just opened up. There is a push button release on bottom of the switch itself.
from the bottom.
7. Remove flathead screw fitting that holds switch in.
8. Pull switch out through the top to make it accessible.
9. Mine was pretty burnt up and I decided to replace the factory connector with insulated female spade connectors.
Do them one at a time so you don't lose place of where they went.
10. Reverse removal procedure.
when you install cluster with speedo cable you can line it up and when you push the cluster in you should hear it click
