92, XJ, in 4X was reluctant to good back to 2X (i.e. stayed in 4X even though lever was in 2X), what adjustment needs to be made? Thanks

Stock, there is not much adjustment.
Best to get underneath and check the linkage.
You can also disconnect the linkage and move the lever manually to confirm if there is an issue with the transfer case itself.

If you don't use it often they can get sticky. On and off the throttle while driving will usually get it to pop on into 2wd.
