Redoing the brake lines

I'm looking to simplify the braking system on my MJ. Would the performance of the braking system still be good if I ran only a single line to the rear brakes, similar to the XJ? I've already removed the rear proportioning valve and I'll be rebuilding the truck soon for wheeling. I'm just looking into this option.

Actually I like the rear prop valve. I plan on setting up a system where I can manually change the linkage to set the rear brakes as I want them for either Off Road or street. My linkage system will go to the frame not the axle. I want to change it myself not the heigth of the rear end in relationship to the body changing it.

Yes you can do what you want but you'll need to change the front prop valve to an XJ one.

Cool. Thanks, Mark. I think I actually have an XJ valve laying around somewhere. Thanks for the reply.
