Redcone Saturday or Sunday?

I need to do a shakedown cruise on my newly rebuilt rig and was thinking about running Redcone on Saturday or Sunday.

Anybody have a trail report? I won't likely have my rock sliders installed by then but historically they were not needed.

Anybody interested in tagging along?

I did Redcone a few weeks back during the day and it wasn't bad. There are a couple washouts on the narrow road near the top coming back down the Webster pass part.

I was also up there about 1am last Friday (more correctly Saturday morning) for some night-time 4wheelin and there was about 2" of snow on the ground above timberline and it was snowing like crazy. We stopped and turned around on the top of the hill before the final climb to Redcone peak. Noone in the group wanted to die that night... go figure. :D

No guts no glory:dunno:

We thought it would be fun to go over Redcone at night. But trying to go down the steep side of the pass on snow didn't sound real smart. Neither did trying to squeeze past those washouts.

Oh well, hopefully the snow is gone because I want to go back again and try the other trail I saw heading up another peak, which I think I've heard people call Radical Hill.

My plan is to go up Redcone, and return via I70. Radical hill is an option. Not a hard trail at all.

I was hoping for this weekend, the 16th or 17th.

Redcone is not a good idea with snow on it. So I'm finishing my bumper and skids today. Stop over.
