RedBird trip this past weekend?

My camera had dead batteries, but my brother got some video.

I'll try to get him to make something I can post online.

We could always hold a reenactment.

Very possible. A Winterfest warm-up sometime in January. :)

I really like that place. The trails were still a challenge for my Jeep but not so hard that, I couldn't enjoy it. Then again, the more difficult sections of trail sounded pretty tough.

Oh I forgot, you missed the after lunch run! Mike and I had to find a bypass for the spot that was eating every window that passed (and that was only if you had enough traction to get up to the tree.) The Olds was slinkied way over because Johnny Bravada took a higher line to avoid said tree. The Rover was helpless, but that goes without saying.

Should have left him in the mudhole that claimed him.

My alt appears and acts fine. Love the engineering genius who put it there.
I found a site(need to find it again) that a guy took real thin sheet metal material and made a splash guard.

Did people break some windows post-lunch?

There definitely was a post lunch glass munch.

Does the TJ have the alternator mounted differently? I thought I heard that somewhere, maybe from RichP. I wonder what it would take to relocate it.

I still need to clean my junk.

Me too... my wife won't give my Suburban back until I do. The dust inside is from Arkansas, the mud outside from Indiana. Sunday project maybe? Supposed to get above freezing over the weekend.

Yes, TJ's have the alt alot higher like a Jeep should have to begin with. I still need to clean my junk.

I'm afraid mine would fall apart if I washed it. I was the first one to get the window popped out, freggin tree was about 1.5" from the end of the glass too.

Only pic of glass carnage I have. Jim:

My suggestion:

Hello tree, meet Mr. Stihl.

I never knew a little piece of glass like that could bow as far as it did before it breaks. JIM.

Man that tree looks bigger than I remember, yea it needs to come down, sad thing is there is another one about 1 foot behind it.

I take it your window was up??? I had a similar situation in Turkey Bay...squished between 2 trees, and all windows down(unless deep mud) and it crushed my passenger door and the glass exploded, even up through the little crack in the door. My gf was loving life...lol!

I still have not had time to scan in my pics. will try to tonight. A bunch of us are going back to Redbird Sat. Nov 26 if any one is interested.
