Reasons not to move to California.

another good reason is ists to hot in cali during the winter. and to dry

Huh?

I could post up all my reasons not to move to California but this would end up being the longest thread in history and I would die before I got to the end of it.

North Korea would be a better choice.

How about a summary :)

I really don't mind California at all. I actually like it. The weather was great. The scenery was great. The desert is great. I miss seeing mountains.

Even the draconian automotive laws really never phased me. Tint and license plates were the only thing I ever got busted for.

What has soured me on California are 2 things:
1. Current job market
2. Cost of living.

After graduating college, I couldn't find a job that would make me enough money to move out of my parent's house without moving to the hood. And as a suburban white boy, I'd last about 5 minutes there.

If I could find a job I wanted that paid me enough to where I could live out there comfortably and think about owning a house within 5 years of graduating... I'd move back. But you can bet that salary would need to be at least 20% higher than what it would take anywhere else.

Ryan,
That's pretty harsh.

AIBandit,
If she's good looking...send her back.

Phoenix is nice, we were looking at homes in Gold Canyon east of AJ, but then Gretzky moved the Coyotes to the far side of town. Oh and if you like all your houses brown or some shade of brown.

Everybody else...we have found your lost children, they have migrated to California and are working at coffee shops, tattoo parlors, or just hanging out. Please come get them I can't afford bus fares back to where they came from for all of them.

I had to do 3 mos at Bangor and Bremerton in 2005 and again in 2008, wasn't impressed with the local scenery. I guess it is because they are always all bundled up and moss grows on everything. Commuting to Seattle by ferry is a very civilized way to commute.

Yeah it would suck to live on the other side of the water. I haven't even been over there. I never get the urge to wait in line for a ferry.

The spelling's a little off, but that right there is a reason to stay away from SF at least,...

california sucks stay the hell out!

I love it here are just too many idiots from other places giving us a bad name.

My avatar picture is a funny reminder to me to be on my best behavior when wheeling. That picture is of a sign in a wheeling area that got taken away a few years back. Its a few idiots that screw it up for everybody, weather its my wheeling spot or my state. They should all go to washington!

Just tell her moving back to CA sounds great, the girls are hotter there anyways! She'll change her mind... That or you won't be trying to think of a reason anymore cause she'll be gone.
:anon:

Hate to bring back an old threat but.... Yup native Californian here. So, you all(ya'll for those east of the Sierra) Remember the 60's &70's? Come on, you know, when all your relatives came here for FREE LOVE & DRUG'S. Dare I say hippies and liberals. If everyone that was not born in this state went back to where they came from we would have 1 tenth the population. No governor but less people.(a good thing). As for wheeling! I'm an hour and a half from driving on the beach, an hour from a free open to the public OHV area with over 200 miles of thing's to do, an hour from the snow and national forest. Know what I do when I'm tired of wheeling? I get out my gun and shoot it. Anyone that want's to come have a beer or shot of tequila come on out. I'll go wheeling with you eat with you but when we are done, GO HOME THERE ARE TO MANY OUT OF STATERS ALREADY......

...,GO HOME THERE ARE TO MANY OUT OF STATERS ALREADY......
Funny, that's what everyone else says about "displaced" californians. :D

Maybe we could all just learn to get along(and stay home!)

Sorry man, I love the NW. but nothing beats Nor-cal. especially Little towns like Yreka.

Infact, i feel Nor-cal is more "NW" then it is "cal"

I watched the movie 2012 last night. While it was probably one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen I was cheering out loud when California slipped under the ocean.
