Rear Wiper Arm Spring...holy cow!

Yet another surprise from the minds of mopar....

Tried to run the rear wiper spray hose through the rear wiper arm assembly....couldn't adequately get it where the jeep initially had it (through the actual spring). So I wound up taking the spring off the arm (bad idea), ran the tubing through the spring, but the spring has more compression strength than anything I have ever dealt with! Holy mackeral! Any ideas on getting that bear back on? Thanks....this board is super.

You can try to grab one hook of the spring with needlenose vise grips. Snap the jaws on tighter than you think is safe for the tool, and pull. I do this often with brake springs. It works better than brake spring pliers sometimes.

If that doesn't work, the way I have done mine, which is assembled out of salvaged pieces from different wipers, is to take out the pivot pin. Hook the spring on first, then pull the arm outward and put the pin back in.
