Was the rear shoulder seatbelts an option on XJ's? Will my '89 2-door have the anchor points to upgrade? I really wasn't looking forward to pulling the headliner to find out...

Doutful I dont think was standard till 90? My 87 doesnt have them anchor need to be welded in.

my 89 4 door has the rear shoulder belts in it.

I was under the impression that all cars had to have provisions for rear shoulder belts back in the early 80's.

The problem is that junk yards are not allowed to sell used seat belts.
