Since the "new" long tube was cut from a different D60 axle, it was already machined properly to press fit in the housing, so all I had to do was find a press big enough both in capacity and size. I ended up at our local High School shop. I needed to raise the press in the air so that when the housing was in the press and up against the cross bars (in their lowest position), the existing long tube would clear the ground. So, I put the press on the vehicle lift and simply hit the UP button to raise it enought for things to clear. I also installed a blank carrier with enough shims to make it a tight fit so that when I was pressing, the housing wouldn't distort...at least not much. I did have a friend around to keep things steady and help horse the housing around! It IS gaining weight! Jeff
