I just bought this axle a month or so back to put under my Cherokee, but I got an 85 4Runner instead, so now it is just taking up space. It has been cleaned and painted. I do not know how the brakes are. I did pull the diff cover off and pulled the shafts out and everything looks good. It is a full width, full floater, 4.10 gears, out of an 85 Dodge 1 Ton truck. The spring pearches are the right width to bolt into an XJ. $175
