Re-spooling a winch w/ new line

I recently picked up some Masterpull Synthetic line for my Warn XD9000. Is there a certain procedure for re-spooling a winch with new line? How much tension should I put on the rope while re-spooling?

About 500lbs is usually enough too respool the winch cable.
I'm not certain about the rope but I hooked mine to a tree
and spooled it up hill at a slight angle.
Just remember to put at least 6 to 8 wraps on the drum
before putting it under load.

And make sure you have the correct fairlead to go with that rope. A wire or roller fairlead will destory it...
