If you want to compete in the comps at a competitive level I think it is $20 per season (1 year).

But there is no charge for each comp, and if you are only going to do a couple I don't believe you need to pay. If you are going to compete in the beginers group (I can't remember the technical term) which I would highly recommend there is no cost either.

I believe it's called the sportsman class, or spec.
You only relly have to pay of you want your scores to be official throughout the season. I fyou don't plan on going to all the year's comps with the hopes of qualifying for Nationals in Utah...you don't have to pay.

Same goes with scale or comp. There's classes for every level of build from stock to super modded.
 
ok gottcha cuz yeah i'll probubly only go to the ones that are close to me i don't think its worth to drive like a long was just to crawl when i can do that in my backyard for free haha you know but ill definatley go to ones closer to me

Mine is completely custom. His is an Axial that I have made a handful of changes to. Both do very well but since mine is not a MOA (Motor on Axle) it is difficult for me to compete effectively.

My son and I both have MOA crawlers and they suck! But they were cheep crawlers you get what you pay for I guess.

But anyway. when we try to go over some obstacles one or the other axle will stall out like there is a diff in the middle of them. I think they call it clod stall? I have found some mods that will fix the problem but I'm not spending anymore money on them.

When I get some money I am going to buy us some Shaft driven crawlers. Not sure yet what ones Losi or Axials? I kinda like the Losi mini. We have a little rock corse and I think the scale would be closer.

nylint?? ummm idk what that is but if your thinking of like the thin plastic bodies that most people have on there crawlers this isn't that material this stuff is alot harder plastic. i got this off of a cheaper rc car trimmed the fender flares that were on it cut the whole floor and dash out ummmm and then yeah i triangulated the rear end on it. basically its a totally custom body haha you 'll never see one like this in the world i think.
i'm suprised that it turned out pretty nice i would've expected it to be really horrible looking lol but hey it works

Totally depends on the course, but as a general rule a MOA buggy (set up well) with out perform a traditional shaft drive all day long!

they certainly are fun to play with!

Yes. Learn how to pick a line:rof: :peace:

You can't change your ground clearance without bigger tires (unless you can shave your axle).
You can increase your belly clearance a little with different geometry arms/shocks. But this shouldn't be the issue. You should be able to drag your belly over anything without it hanging up. The ONLY thing that I hang up on my belly is my steering tie rod (behing the axle). I do the same if I am driving my son's with in front of the axle high steer.

Really it comes down to picking the line better.

I see. I didn't get very good ones for our fist rigs. There Duratraxx they were a impulse buy.

What makes you think the ring and pinion are going to go?
Your axles in that Axial are good to way more power and traction that you are getting with what you are running. I would pull the axle apart and clean all the bearings and make sure it all looks good. I bet there is nothing wrong with you gears unless something else is completely out of whack.
