just needed a simple answer. what backspacing will stick out farther, 3.75, or 4.75. and what would the best bs be for LTB 31/11.5. right now i have 30/9.5 bgf mt on 3.75 . with RE 3.5.

4.75 would work better. The tires stuff better under full compression.

Your stock backspacing is 5.25". Just enough additional backspacing to clear a larger tire on the inside, but not stick out too far on the outside, is what allows the best tire clearance. Most have found that 4.5-4.75" is ideal. Once you're willing to really cut the wheel wells, it doesn't make much difference. I ran 4.75" for many years, now I have 3.25".

thanks. i'll try the wheels i have now and see what happens.

I had 15X7 rims with 3.75" backspacing with 31.10.5x15 tires and RE 3.5" lift. No rubbing no problems on 99 XJ.
