I have a '92 XJ, 4.0, I6, AW4 NP231...anyone know what the stock alternator is in these? Just looking for the brand name/model. TIA

It should be the G.M. DELCO CS-130, I do believe. Every one of mine has had them, and that is what I got as replacements for the first couple of times that they went bad. I think that Jeep started using the MoPar alt. in about 95-96.

My '95 has a NipponDenso, what was the switch year from AC Delco to NipponDenso?

Model Year 1984-1986 featured the Delco SI
Model Year 1987-1990 has the Delco CS
and Model Year 1991-2001 has the Nippondenso.
Output for any of these can be between 60A (low-end SI) and 100A (high-end CS and ND.)

As a note the earlier Delcos were mostly the 10 SI. 12 and 15SI are the heaver versions. Also the CS version used was the 130. (my personal favorite.) were lucky that Jeep went to nippondenso, the next generation of Delco alternators sucked! The CS 130D. Like I said just a note.
