I pulled the factory rubber piece out and welded a plate there instead. And yes, welded cup things. Drilling and tapping is probably a better idea but I didn't feel like it lol
So your plate is small enough to slip inside the coil spring then (2" to 2-1/2" or so, right?). Is that working OK? It doesn't seem like it would have enough surface area to contact the prothane fully, but maybe that hole in the uppper end of the coil is bigger than I remember... Or maybe you can twist the coil and thread the plate through the coil as you put the coil in place.... hmmm, gonna have to look at this some more...
I used the hole saw i had for notching my 60 brakets. So its 3¹/⁴ i believe.
I thought about putting the plate on the bump tower. But i was afraid the coil would hang up on it.
I am thinking the same thing about the coil hanging on the plate. I like your idea, but I would have to cut down the prothane to do it. I got the full length ones with the plan of cutting it if I need to, but would rather not if I don't have to... if I cut the factory bump cup off and put a plate there, I would not have to cut the prothane....
Decisions decisions... Thanks for the help gents!!
