Has anyone ever removed the rear quarter panel sections aft of the wheelwell? It seems like that would be a way to simply elminate a part of the body that's suseptible to body damage and at the same time increase the departure angle. Not sure what to do about a rear bumper though.

I'm pretty sure Rusty's Offroad sells quarter panel protection.

I find that after a certain amount of compression, sheetmetal tends to resist further damage.
