your right about those ugly casting marks on the intake
also if it were me id switch those water pump bolts to a standar bolt head instead of those alen head ones, just a personal preference

I'm ok with the bolts. I don't like allen heads either, but they work.
So I ran in to a bit of an issue. When I spaced out the ls1 water pump the tensioner didn't work. So I ordered an ls1 tensioner, that didn't work either. The truck tensioner was too far out. The ls1 was too far in.
So I decided to mod the truck tensioner. Here's how.
I have my square sitting on the crank pulley so I know where the edge of the accessory belt approximately is.
This is where the ls1 tensioner was:
This was the truck. You can see that neither were in line with the belt.
So I put a string that was in line with the first (furthest forward) belt groove and made sure it was even with the crank pulley. Now I had something to measure.
So what I needed to do was shave down the tensioner 3/4" so the string was in line with the first valley.
Cut line. Kind of hard to see.
After I cut it down I had to clearance the pulley bracket a bit. But this is the measurement I ended up with.
It's bang on!

I haven't been working on the jeep a whole lot lately. You know holidays and stuff.
This is part of the reason: My wife and I are huge animal people. She loves everything. She volunteered at the local animal rescue with a work group. While she was there she fell in love with this one dog. Her name was Grace. Well a couple of nights later we're taking and she starts to tear up a bit. She was thinking of Grace. So with Christmas around the corner I decide to go down to the shelter to adopt this dog for her. Fortunately and unfortunately Grace was adopted. While I was there I decided to look around at the other dogs they had (dangerous I know). I found this guy. His name was (keyword there is WAS) Cookie. I ended up calling my wife and explaining everything. We went to the shelter that night and adopted him. Probably one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met.
His name is Jackson:

I found my mistake with the tensioner. I ordered the wrong one. Dirty Dingo's website says exactly which one to order. Oops on my part.

So I received my new accessory brackets (after them getting returned to sender). Awesome quality. I need to order the power steering pump, idler pulley, belt, and the correct tensioner. After I have those items the accessory drive will be complete. Actually that will almost complete the engine install.
Just need to finish wiring, fuel, and exhaust.
I also had a buddy fab a new upper radiator crossmember. I won't need the hood latch as I'm going to use hood pins.

So I made a radiator mount today. I thought it turned out pretty well! I'm going to remake them in steel. The aluminum is just too brittle when you bend it.

Oh and there's really not much room for a fan....the Saab fan fits, but only has about 1/4" clearance from the crank pulley

If you have pretty solid engine mounts. .25 inch clearance should be okay.
Was thinking that you could rebuild/brace the crossmember to run a full size pusher fan?

I wouldn't even consider a pusher fan. They're much more inefficient. And living in vegas I need all the cooling help I can get.

have you considered a volvo fan? its got a pretty thin shroud and the motor is the same as the 3.8 taurus fan.
you could also move the motor back a hole in the motor mounts and scootch the motor back a bit

That's what I'm running. The volvo shroud is thinner and easier to modify, and its very rare that I need to use the second speed. I think the first is around 2200 cfm, and second is 5400 or so. That should cool a big block with that rad you've got.

I am using a Volvo fan. 1/4" is plenty of clearance for me. It's not an issue.

If you delete all of the evap codes (set them to "no error reported") then the readiness check completes as soon as you start it. It will pass emissions.

Sorry for quoting the pictures and all,
That coolant line you are having clearance issues with on the TB. You don't need it. It was only designed to run warm coolant thought the TB to keep it from ice buildup in very cold weather. Even in indiana winters ive never run them and never had an issue. You can always take it off and mill the TB housing down if you want to clear that issue.
